About
Sierra brings more than 23 years of design and customer-focused experience to her role as Designer at Mountainwood Homes. Ever since she dreamed of becoming an interior designer as a child, Sierra has leaned on her detail-oriented nature to ensure every selection and specification are thoughtful, beautiful, and functional for the client’s goals.
After graduating from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Interior Design, she moved to Portland for expanded job opportunities. She spent three years working at a lighting showroom and 10 years at a plumbing showroom, where she first connected with Mountainwood Homes as their sales rep. In those roles, Sierra learned sales and customer service, a sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail, while working with both trade professionals and homeowners.
In 2015, she was drawn to Mountainwood Homes by the chance to work in a true design/build environment and collaborate with a team she describes as knowledgeable, resourceful, and deeply supportive.
“I enjoy designing spaces and solving problems for our clients,” she added. “I enjoy working on a team towards a common goal.”
Her role is to guide clients through the process to make it as easy and fun as possible.
“I look forward to the Collaborative Design Meetings during the Design Agreement Phase and the tile meetings,” she added.
She’s earned a reputation for being detail-oriented, creative, and fiercely passionate about every project she touches.
“I enjoy what I do. Every day and every project are a little bit different, which keeps it interesting and fresh; I love learning on each project and applying that knowledge to the next project.”
Outside of work, Sierra enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and their two cats, Yoyo and Ziggy. She’s always learning something new—whether it’s design and construction techniques, Latin dance moves, or perfecting her karaoke performance of “Jackson” by Johnny Cash and June Carter. You might also find her playing guitar, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, working in her garden, or exploring the outdoors.

Fun Facts
- Bend, Oregon is her home-away-from-home. She dreams of owning a home there so her extended family has a permanent gathering place for their annual vacation, where she can ski, hike, kayak, and recharge in nature
- Her very first gig? Working the McDonald’s drive-thru
- In high school, everyone said she could’ve been Alanis Morissette’s twin when her hair was long (Isn’t it ironic?)
