David Bonfiglio, CMB

A Portland native with over 34 years of construction experience, David Bonfiglio brings a calm presence, deep industry knowledge, and a solutions-focused mindset to every project. He began his career as a residential framer while attending Portland State University, earning a degree in marketing and a minor in psychology—skills that help him connect easily with both clients and crews.

Over the years, David has managed everything from large-scale subdivisions in Bend to a 44-unit townhome community and countless custom homes and remodels throughout the Portland area. He holds a Master Builder Certificate and is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. He joined the Mountainwood Homes team in 2016.

Known for his time management, problem-solving skills, and approachable nature, David thrives on the job site, especially when collaborating with the trades to bring designs to life.

“Working with the trades and trying to figure out what was drawn or designed and what is physically possible—that’s the best part,” he says. “They’re the ones who make it happen.”

While the construction phase can feel overwhelming at times, David keeps projects on track and clients at ease. His favorite moment? “The finished product and the client’s reaction to it all. The process is a lot for most people, but the end result is where the real joy is.”

David knows a project is set up for success when clients come in excited and ready for change. “Those willing to let Mountainwood do what we do best and trust the process—they’re always the best fit.”

Outside of work, David enjoys staying active—golfing, jogging, playing soccer, and walking his “grand-dog.” He’s also a big fan of his wife’s cooking. Every summer, he looks forward to their family trip to Sunriver which is filled with nature, biking, canoeing, grilling, and quality time together.
